Our Commitment to Web Accessibility

Pixaful runs this website. We want as many people as possible to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts.
  • Zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen.
  • Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard.
  • Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

The majority of this website is fully accessible. We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

Most older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software.

There may be some PDF, Word, Excel or PowerPoint which haven’t been designed for accessibility.

Embedded videos may not have captions.

Content in tables, used to format text, may not be suitably formatted for screen readers.

Some content is embedded in our website, such as maps and videos, and you cannot easily scale these on screen.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Pixaful is committed to making its website accessible in line with WCAG 2.2

Compliance status

This website complies with WCAG version 2.2 except for downloadable documents such as Word and PDF files which are not yet fully accessible. The content listed below is also currently exempt from our WCAG 2.2 accessibility declaration.

Non accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Issues with PDFs and other documents

Some of our PDF and Word documents are not able to comply with the requirements of the web accessibility standard. Where we create new PDFs, we use the PDF/A standard which is more accessible.

Mobile devices

This website is not fully compliant to WCAG 2.2 on mobile devices. We are working hard to achieve full compliance. If you discover any accessibility issues whilst using our website on a mobile device please let us know.

Content Management

The staff at Pixaful do not have any issues managing the content on this website or any website managed by Pixaful. When using the content management system, the site will not conform to WCAG as many of these elements are outside of our control.

Disproportionate burden

We do not consider any elements to be a disproportionate burden at present as we understand WCAG 2.2 AA. Should any come to light, we will update this section.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents

Many of our older PDFs and Word documents do not meet accessibility standards – for example, they may not be structured so they’re accessible to a screen reader.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We are actively looking to improve the accessibility on our website.

We maintain our website in line with WCAG 2.2 and are striving to learn how we can improve the accessibility of pixaful.co.uk. If you have any issues with accessing any of the content, please let us know.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 8th March 2024. It was last updated on 15th September 2024.

The home page and all content pages were tested as well as a random selection of blog pages.

Site compliance was checked using a combination of manual testing and third party tools, including:

axe – Web Accessibility Testing (https://www.deque.com/axe)

WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool (https://wave.webaim.org)

WebAIM Contrast Checker (https://webaim.org/resources/contrastchecker)

Manual checks, including using screen reader Google Select and Speak within Google Chrome were also carried out.

We also tested the site with SortSite Desktop which allows us to test for WCAG 2.2 issues.
